Viet Celts Farewells 2013

VC Logo2

The Viet Celts bade a sad farewell to a number of important stalwarts of the club in 2013 who have left Hanoi.

Claire ‘Care Bear’  Coughlan

Donie ‘Fitz’ Fitpatrick

Seamus Doran

Tom ‘Il Capitano’ Pyper

‘Wild Bill’ Langslet

Georgia Davis

Amy Cowan

Lorraine Ní Annracháin

Jessica Den Hollander

Brian Mac Domhnaill

All had made a fine contribution to the Viet Celts in their time in Hanoi both on and off the field and the club wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavours. If you are on this list and failed to pick yourself up a nom de plume in your time in Hanoi, try harder if you return.

A big thank you to Tom Pyper for all his coaching with our Schools Program and his equally important work behind the scenes with the oragnisation of and the fundraising for the youth tournaments . We also remember fondly his captaining of the Viet Celts to our first major trophy, the South Asian Plate in Thailand in 2012. Tom will remain connected to the club and our Schools Program from his new base of Danang in South Central Vietnam.

A huge welcome back to VC Legends, John Shoulders, Dave Cunningham, Proinsias Roche and Ciaran ‘Wise Owl’ Rose as we build up to the South Asian Gaelic Games 2014. Great to have them back, it is almost like they never went away.

Thanks to all who helped out with the club in 2013 and of course a special thanks to our sponsors and other supporters.

Happy New Year to Viet Celts past and present wherever you may be.

Tomas, happy new year to everybody in Victoria and Melbourne, we have a very good relationship with the local Aussie Rules team, the Vietnam Swans, many of whom hail from that neck of the woods.
