Queensland Flood Appeal

Andy, Martin and Jim of the Viet Celts with Crazy Kind Dan of the Swans

Some Viet Celts dropped in to Jaspas in Hanoi on 21 January 2011 to support our cousins, the Vietnam Swans as they raised money for their brethren affected by the recent devastating Queensland Floods.  As well as raising money for a good cause, a theme of the night was smiling insanely at the camera.

The Hanoi branch of the Swans in conjunction with Jaspas raised an amazing AUD$6,400 on the night for Queenslanders caught up in the disaster so it was a credit to Willy, Stanno and the boys from the Swans and Jamie and the boys from Jaspas.

Overall throughout Vietnam, the Swans and their co-organisers Jaspas, Australian Chamber of Commerce, Commonwealth Bank, VINO Wines (HCMC) and the Ulysses Club (Vung Tau) raised an incredible AUD$35,000 for the general appeal. It is another example of resolute Australian community spirit so good on them.

These floods affected much of the state of Queensland including coincidentally severe damage to the grounds of the Queensland GAA Headquarters in Brisbane which GAA clubs around the world are now trying to raise money for.
